Baby Landon

Hi there,

Some of you may know an old friend of mine - Charlene Nault (now Kratavicius). Anyways, on Valentine's Day she gave birth to Landon by C-section because he was overdue and had a bowel movement while still in her tummy. He got a bunch in his lungs and they could not suction it all out. Not good. So they have flown him and Charlene and Tony to Edmonton in case they need to do a procedure to get the rest of it out of his lungs.

They have been there for 7 days and he is improving every day. This picture was taken by Mom and Dad - let me tell you - he looks way better than when I saw him in Winnipeg's Children's Hospital. Then he was on a ventilator, tons of tubes and wires. Not good.

They are weaning him off most of his medications and Charlene changed his diaper for the first time last night. I can't imagine not holding your newborn baby for more than 7 days. The night they all left to go to Edmonton, she figured they would be there for 3-4 weeks. With the progress he is making, I wonder if it will be sooner. We'll wait and see.

Charlene has never been a fan of spoiling kids, I'm betting that Landon will be very spoiled. After 29 years of never getting on a plane - Charlene didn't have much choice. Quite a start to baby Landon's life.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
