We're back!
Well we went to Mexico and everyone loved it. We had the chance to show the kids around Puerto Vallarta. We came back tanned and fairly well rested. We bargained with the beach vendors and bought at the local shops. The girls had their first pedicure there. Cody, Robin & I all had massages (they were wonderful). The girls and I got hair braids - Morgan got all her hair, Tamara got 1/2 her hair and I got 8 braids. Mine and Morgan's are still in a week later but Tamara took hers out yesterday. I think Morgan will take hers out tomorrow. All of us except Robin got Henna tattoos. Or at least we thought they were Henna...turns out they probably weren't. Mine and Cody's were OK but the girls' seem to have become infected. Here is a picture of Morgan's who is by far the worst...
It's the perfect pattern of what her tattoo looked like...except it's red and raised....and according to her - VERY itchy!! We went to the doctor today and he prescribed some cream, pills and Benadryl. Hopefully it goes away SOON. Tamara's swelled a bit but it's gone now. The internet research I did says that if the person doing it tells you to wash it off within an hour - it's probably black hair dye and not Henna ink. It said reactions can be mild (like itching, swelling, etc) to even death! Yikes! We won't be doing that again.
On another note, my youngest (yes, Morgan again) had a little fall at school on Friday and turns out she broke her arm... Here's a picture of her little arm. :-(

She took it very well - Robin said not a tear while the x-rayed her arm and put the cast on. She's still fairly mobile but she's just a little toned down.
I haven't put up my village this year, with going on our holiday so close to Christmas, I just ran out of time and it seemed silly to put it up a week before Christmas. Next year it will be back. I just bought a Christmas Tree on Wednesday, we decorated it Friday night. Here's a picture of it.
Most of the presents are under the tree, I have to wrap Robin's gifts yet. We are going to my Grandparent's house tomorrow for dinner. Then Boxing Day we head to Robin's parents and on the 27th the girls go to their Dad's until January 2. That's my "down" time after Christmas. Rachel & Ken come in on december 29 and stay til New Year's. Then Cody flies out to Alberta on Jan 10 for a week in Maui. Lucky him. :-)
Well from my family to yours, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and an even better Year in 2008. Have a good one.
