New Job update...

Hii everyone,

Well I have been working for Superior for 4 days now and I am now catching on. The first couple of days I didn't think I'd ever grasp it. I'm working kinda on my own more and more. Angie is the primary person I am replacing. She is going to have a baby somewhere around November 20th. I will be learning payroll next week - apparently they use an OLD program there - that will probably change PDQ. I only have 6 days left with Angie & Gail. Gail is the "controller" and she is retiring. I will be taking payroll from her as well as some other minor jobs. Hopefully I remember everything I need. :o)

Robin is currently in Brampton, Ontario - he and his dad drove a truck out there and are coming back with two new trucks. It was a rough ride out there because the truck they were driving didn't have a box on the back so it bumped around a LOT!! The trucks they are picking up already have boxes on them so it should be a much nicer ride home. They left yesterday (Wednesday) morning and got there about 9pm Manitoba time tonight. I miss him when he's gone. :o( I don't do well when he's gone. I feel like a HUGE part of me is missing. I have to make myself busy so I don't call him every hour. They should be home Saturday night but I am not expecting them until Sunday sometime. On the way out they could each drive 10 hours so technically they could have gotten within 4 hours of Brampton, but on the way home they can only drive 10 hours MAX before they have to take an 8 hour break. So they will prob drive 10 hours tomorrow, 10 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. Hopefully if they push the limits, they don't get caught at the scales. Driving over the hour limits cost BIG fines.

Well that's all I know for today - Holmes on Homes is on now so I better go watch.

Take care.

Hi everyone,

Well a couple of things are new for me:

Firstly - the house we wanted fell through - the guy selling it decided to sell it to his son. So we are on the hunt for a new house and are looking in.... gasp.... STEINBACH!! I have never been a big fan of Steinbach - I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe it's the attitude that if you don't have a "mennonite" name - you don't belong there. Or maybe the lack of Sunday shopping - I hate having to go to Winnipeg if I need something on a Sunday. It sucks. Anyways, because I want the kids to go to Steinbach's high school (SRSS) - we need to live in the Hanover School District. Therefore, we are very much considering the move to Steinbach - where I don't find "It's worth the trip". :o)

Secondly - this post will be my last from Nutri-Health Group offices. In 2 hours and 10 minutes I will be walking out the door as a Nutri-Health Group employee for the last time. It's a sad day for me - I truly enjoyed working here. This is the longest I have ever stayed in one place and I liked my job here. I had posted earlier that I am going to work for Superior Technologies in Winnipeg where I will be doing very similar stuff as I did for Nutri-Health Group . I have missed answering the phones and getting to know customers. I am very much a people person and love talking so reception is a good fit. I will also be doing Payroll - which I love as well as invoicing which is OK too. I am nervous (as most people are) to start a new job and not know the people or what is expected but I will give 100% of myself. As I type this, I am holding back tears because I will miss everyone at Nutri-Health as well as Ruth & baby Shiloh & Christie... to name a few. I will miss being involved with planning things like the Christmas Banquet, Niverville Fair and Nutri-Health Group picnic. I will miss ranting to Shelley about certain things that drive me crazy. I will miss being able to stick my tongue out at James. I will miss filling people's offices with balloons or decorating someone's office for their birthday. :o) These are all things that made my time at Nutri-Health a time I will never forget.

I will miss you all :o)

Take care.

Update on changes...

Well I can now make it official - I have been looking for a new job for a couple of months - although I was being very picky about where I wanted to work. Not so much about the company, but location was definitely a key.

On October 23rd, I start a new job at Superior Technologies in Winnipeg. Their website is: www.superiortech.com My title there will be Administrative Assistant and I will be doing a lot of the same things I am doing now including invoicing, payroll, etc. I'm excited yet sad about this new direction my life is taking. I'm excited because I always like to learn new things and processes yet sad because I will miss everyone at Nutri-Health Group very much (including Miss Ruth & Shiloh).

There is a saying " you gotta go where the money is" and that's part of it. I was told there would be no raise for me this year - That would mean I would not get a raise for almost 2 years. That doesn't sit well with me since I know I do a good job.

As for changes on the house situation - nothing new there. No news is good news I suppose.

Take care.

Wow - it's been almost a month since my last post - I'm sorry for not updating on a regular basis. We are playing dominoes with the house situation - which is not good for me. The way it looks is this:

A couple from Anola put in an offer on our house subject to them selling their current house. So now theirs is up for sale but so far no accepted offers. We have had a few people interested in our house, but only the one serious offer so we continue to wait. The good thing about this couple in Anola is they offered $3,000 more than we are asking which is a good thing. That means we don't have to go $3000 in debt to cover everything which is what we were going to end up doing.

On the new house, there is a couple from Iles des Chenes that want to put in an offer but first they have to sell their current house. A guy from Thompson wants to buy their house but what has to happen first? Of course - he has to sell his house. So it's this big game of Dominoes! IT's very frustrating for us because now it's a race to who sells first gets the house. If the guy in Thompson sells his, then we very well may lose the house we want.

The kicker is there is nothing else in our area that is suitable for us. :o( Then we rode the quads down to the new house on Sunday jsut to take another look and while we were there another realtor came to show the house - NOT GOOD!

So that is where we stand on the house front. Not good news but I guess not really bad news yet either.

On a kid note - Cody started hockey camp yesterday. Looks like we are joining with Landmark to form a team. We'll see how that goes with us moving 7 miles further. I would imagine next week we will have our first practice. Another hockey season under way... :o)

Well that's all I know for now. Take care.
