Pass the Tylenol please...
We last Thursday I came down with a fever at work. Anyone that knows me knows I am NEVER cold - but last week I had to ask Shelley for her jacket because I was sooo COLD!!! Anyways, I went home and crawled into bed. I spent the night there and all day Friday as well. Saturday I had to take the puppies to get their tails and claws done - that was not cool. I was still running a fever and was VERY shaky - not a good combination with driving. I managed to get there and back without running into anyone - literally! I came home and promptly went back to bed - this time with some company - Tamara. Yup. She came down with this bug too. We slept most of the day and woke up just before Robin got home. Then I spent the rest of the night on the couch dozing on and off trying my best to watch THE hockey game. Edmonton didn't win the Cup - which is too bad because they really tried. Carolina just skated circles around them. Then Sunday we decided to venture out to the Red River Ex - what a brave Mom I am - to go when I am still not feeling well. We got there about 2 and stayed until 6 - I barely walked around. I would find a bench and sit there until the kids and Robin caught up. Then we would move to the next bench. Not the perfect afternoon. I was in a good place to look sick though - no one even gave me a second look as I sat there holding my stomach. I guess it looked like I had just come off a ride and was trying to keep my lunch down. :o) Little did they know...
Then we came home and didn't do much that night. Monday morning came and I decided I would try to get into work because there was a chick shipment. I lasted 2 hours. Then I went home and curled up with Ally on the couch. Robin came home for lunch and I managed to eat something. That night we didn't do much of anything. Tuesday morning came and I could barely speak. This fever also comes with a cough that is not cool. So after a night of coughing, my throat was raw. I called into work to say I wasn't feeling well still but I would try to come in around lunch time. I went in for 1 and managed to stay til 5. Wednesday I lasted all day and felt much better. Today is Thursday and I think I am almost 100% - I just had the odd tickle in my throat.
On a kid note - I signed the kids up for swimming lessons this morning - Woohoo! That means summer is here. :o) I also signed the girls up for their first ever summer camp. They will be going to Camp Nutimik in the Whiteshell for 1 week - well actually it's 6 days according to Tamara. She is such a worrier - I wish I knew how to stop that. She is already full of "what-if's". I think they will have a blast and hopefully come back slightly happier girls. Tamara has self-esteem issues and I can't help her with them because I have the same issue. We are both overweight and can't seem to get a handle on it. Morgan is quite the leader - she is skinny as all get-out and for the most part - a happy little girl. She doesn't remember the tough times we used to have.
This weekend we are having some friends out (wanna come?) for a bonfire and BBQ - we try to have several every year because we love our yard and want to share it with everyone. We'll see who shows up :o) It's usually a good time with friends and sometimes family. I also have to use up a certificate I bought for myself for the Urban Oasis at Polo Park's Clarion Hotel. I bough my mom one and couldn't resist buying myself one. Now we just have to use them. Maybe Saturday first thing would work... hmmm. We'll see.
On a different subject - have any of you seen the website www.dailydancer.com ? it's this guy who (I think) to lose weight started dancing to all sorts of songs on his website. Anyways, if I am ever feeling down - I go to his site and take a look. He cheers me up immediately. To think someone in this world doesn't care what everyone thinks - he just does his thing. Wow. To be like that one day. :o) Take a look - I guarantee it will cheer you up.
Take care.

I will take them on the weekend to get their dewclaws removed as well as their tails docked. I promise, it doesn't hurt them very much. :o)
And one more for good measure...
